Business and real estate mogul Donald Trump is breaking into the Chicago real estate market and establishing
his name there with the Trump Tower residence. Trump Tower will debut on the Chicago real estate market in 2008, offering large luxury Chicago condos, studios, three bedroom Chicago homes, and
even five bedroom penthouses. This Chicago property will also serve as a hotel.
This piece of Chicago real estate is located in the River North neighborhood, which is not far off from downtown Chicago. It features fine and full views of the Chicago skyline, the
lakefront, and the Chicago River. River North has emerged as one of the fastest growing and most sought after Chicago neighborhoods to live in.
It boasts the highest concentration of restaurants and entertainment venues in Chicago and the largest number of art galleries outside of the Manhattan borough of New York City. Most River
North residents have chosen to invest in Chicago real estate here because of the neighborhood's close proximity to the Chicago Loop, where many of them work.
River North is also know for its antique shopping. There are close to 20 separate antique stores. The Merchandise Mart and Apparel Center are also found in River North as well as the
Denargo Market.
The location is only one reason to invest in this relatively new piece of Chicago real estate. Trump Tower will feature interiors with solid wood doors, high-security deterrent systems, 10
foot ceiling spaces for all residences, and 16-foot high ceilings for the penthouses. Most units will also have Brazilian hardwood floors, walk-in closets, fireplaces, a full-size washer and
dryer, Italian wood cabinets in the kitchen, all seas air, and heating, and pre-wired Internet connectivity.
The amenities further differentiate Trump Tower from any other Chicago real estate property. They include luxury hotel services, a 24-hour white glove doorman and concierge, indoor owner
designated parking, world class health club and spa, in-home dining and catering services, dry cleaning and laundry valet services, housekeeping services, access to the Hotel conference center,
and a 1.2 acre Riverwalk Park with residents only dog-run.
This Chicago real estate property received much publicity because of its association with the reality television show called the Apprentice. The Apprentice features 16 to 18 businessmen and
women competing in an elimination-style competition for a one-year $250,000 contract to run one of Donald Trump's companies. Trump serves as the show's host and executive producer.
The first season's winner Bill Rancic selected the construction of the Trump International Hotel and Tower as his project.
Though originally conceived as not only the tallest of Chicago real estate properties, but as the tallest building in the world. However, the September 11 attacks in 2001 caused the plans
to be scaled down. Upon completion, current plans see it becoming the second tallest building in the city of Chicago behind the Sears Tower and the second tallest building in America. This
standing should remain until the Chicago Spire's completion in late 2011.
