Buying Your Chicago Condo: Neighborhood Considerations

When considering to invest in Chicago condos or another type of Chicago real estate property, one should know which are the best neighborhoods to live in and what their best features are. The most ideal locations for Chicago condos are the following neighborhoods: Bucktown, Gold Coast, Lincoln Park, Old Town, River North, South Loop, and Streeterville.

Chicago condos in Bucktown often find themselves homes to artists, musicians, and yuppies. A Bohemian flair runs throughout the entire neighborhood and there's no shortage of book stores, boutiques, art galleries, bars, and clubs. Many young professionals install themselves here in Chicago condos, lofts, or apartments for the neighborhood's vibrant energy and the reasonable prices. Street parking is not difficult to find and easily convenient public transport is also available.

The Gold Coast features some of the most expensive Chicago condos and housing properties, though also some of the finest. The Chicago condos in this neighborhood are within walking distance of many department stores, boutiques, restaurants such as Prada, Barney's, Tods, Louis Vuitton, and Ultimo. Other than Chicago condos, Gold Coast residents with the economic resources also invest in brownstones and greystones. Many Gold Coast residents go about without a car since everything is within reasonable walking distance.

Lincoln Park offers Chicago condos with a quaint, neighborhood feel due to the tree-lined streets and its close proximity to the actual Lincoln Park. There's a mix of mansions, two-flats, Chicago condos and apartment, along with young professionals and families with children.

North of the Chicago Merchandise Mart lies the River North neighborhood. It boasts the second largest assortment of art galleries in America, second only to Midtown Manhattan. Many professionals live in this area because of its close proximity to downtown Chicago.

The area also includes Printer's Row, Dearborn Park, and Central Station, both of which has historic buildings standing and a vibrant, artistic energy running through them. North of the Chicago River are the Chicago condos in Streeterville. This neighborhood houses many of Chicago's famous skyscrapers and upscale stores, hotels, restaurants, and theaters. Chicago homes with a view of the lake are also available.

The historic Old Town neighborhood is on the Near North side of the city. Unique architecture, including cozy cottages, brick and frame rowhouses, townhomes, Chicago condos, and high-rise buildings fill the streets. From the high rises, there are good views of Lincoln Park, Gold Coast, the Loop, and Lake Michigan.

Lakeview is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Chicago. It is a blending of smaller neighborhoods with urban dwellings. High-rises, Chicago condos (both new and vintage) populate the neighborhood al the way west.
